The Krenov Archive
The Krenov Archive is a free, online resource for the study of the work of renown Cabinet Maker, James Krenov. The Archive is an ongoing and growing resource of Krenov’s life and work, and was initiated in 2013 by a grant from The Mendocino Community Fund and donations to the Krenov Foundation.
The Archive's curator David Welter and archivist Kevin Shea have created a variety of ways to explore Krenov's work through four categories:
Pieces - Illustrations - Lectures - JK (His life story and photographs) The Pieces category is further divided into six additional subdivisions:
Veneer Cabinets - Solid Cabinets - Showcases - Wall Cabinets - Details - Other
And also chronologically:
Before 1980 - 1980-89 - 1990-99 - 2000-2006
Each Piece is represented by a variety of images, often showing details and in some cases work in the process of creation.
We encourage you to explore and discover the work of this unique master furniture maker.
